Dancing Festival At Lake Lure This Weekend
This weekend August 14-15, 2015 at Lake Lure and Chimney Rock the annual Dirty Dancing Festival is being held. The festival is in honor of the popular 1987 movie Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. The movie will be shown free Morse Park Meadows on Friday. On Saturday there will be music, lake lift competition, dance lessons, crafts, games like carry a watermelon and more fun.

On Friday night from 7:00-10:00pm enjoy the free showing of the movie at The Dirty Dancing Festival Lakeside Screening at Morse Park Meadows. Bring some lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy the movie with a great view of Lake Lure. There will be food and drinks on sale or you can bring your own picnic!
On Saturday the Dirty Dancing Festival at Morse Park Meadows will be held from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. It will be a whole day of live music, dancing, beer and wine garden, dance lesson, competition and games, food, fun and crafts. Admission is $27 for adults, $14 for children 12 years old and under.
The festival started in 2010 and each years gets bigger and more fun with more and more people attending. This year includes a main stage and dance floor, dance lessons pavilion, Kelerman’s Resort Games Area and vendors and other attractions. And don’t forget to get your Dirty Dancing Festival tee-shirt!
