East Carolina Wildlife Arts Festival 2016 and NC Decoy Carving Championship

The East Carolina Wildlife Arts Festival 2016 and NC Decoy Carving Championship takes place Feb. 5-7, 2016 in  Washington, NC. Art exhibits, carving competition, stamp competition, food and music and more. Exhibitors at the festival include: carvers, painters, photographers, sculptors, knife makers, potters, wildlife  guides, wildlife outfitters, custom duck call makers and many more related to outdoor life and wildlife. The festival takes place in downtown and waterfront locations in  Washington, North Carolina. See map below. Fun for all in a beautiful waterfront setting.Weather this weekend should be cool but nice.

The East Carolina Wildlife Arts Festival will be at The Washington Civic Center and the First South Bank Sportsman Venue. Numerous exhibitors (over 65 this year) will be at two venues with wildlife art and exhibits. Exhibitors include: carvers, collectors, painters, photographers, sculptors, knife makers, potters, guides, outfitters, custom duck call makers, and more.

The NC Decoy Carving Championship will be at the Peterson Building both Saturday 9:00am ~ 5:00pm and Sunday 10:00am – 3:00pm.The Peterson Building is located adjacent to the Washington Civic Center. The East Carolina Wildfowl Guild presents the 21st North Carolina Decoy Carving Championship

Also the N.C. Waterfowl Conservation Stamp Competition will be judged at the festival.The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission and the Washington Tourism Development Authority sponsor this annual contest. The artwork that wins will be announced at the Annual East Carolina Wildlife Arts Festival and the N.C. Decoy Carving Championships. The winner is selected by a panel of judges. The winner receives $7,000 in prize money, $300 in travel expense money, and free booth space at the 2017 festival. The winning artwork in the competition will be featured on the 2016-17 waterfowl conservation stamp ( the North Carolina duck stamp).
