WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest Memorial Weekend
WRAL is having their first hot air balloon festival. The WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest takes place this weekend over the Memorial Weekend. This is a major hot air balloon event featuring a skills competition, a nightly balloon “glow” at sunset, a meet a greet with the hot air balloon pilots and tethered balloon rides. The WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest start this Friday May 22 and goes through Monday. It takes place at two locations:Bennett Bunn Plantation in Zebulon and at Spring Forest Rd Park in Raleigh.
The festival will have more than 30 hot air balloons and is open to the public. Friday the festival starts off with a mass landing of all the balloons then a balloon “glow” at sunset. Saturday and Sunday the public can meet and greet the pilot and teams and get a look at the hot air balloons. Tethered balloon rides will also be offered. And each night at sunset there will be a balloon “glow” at both Bennett Bunn Plantation and Spring Forest Rd Park. For more information see WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest.
